Colorado Minimum Wage to Increase

The Colorado Department of Labor & Employment, Division of Labor announced it is proposing a new state minimum wage of $7.64 an hour ($4.62 an hour for employees who regularly receive tips), to be effective January 1, 2012. This increase is tied to the Consumer Price Index for the Denver-Boulder-Greeley metropolitan area which increased by 3.8 percent from the first half of 2010 to the first half of 2011. The federal minimum wage remains at $7.25 an hour.
