The ADA prohibits discrimination against qualified individuals with disabilities in job application procedures, hiring, advancement, discharge, compensation, training, or other terms, conditions, and privileges of employment.  The ADA requires employers to engage in an interactive process with employees whose disabilities affect essential job functions to determine if reasonable accommodations can be made so that an employee can perform the essential functions of the position.
