The most effective way to ensure the timeliness of completing performance appraisals is to make this activity (as well as the ongoing performance management process) one of the primary job requirements for supervisors. Holding them accountable in their own performance goals for completing appraisals effectively and on time should be built into the process itself as part of supervisors’ expectations.​
