Q & A – Do I have to change an employee’s job duties because of a disability?

ADCareerTransition.pngQ. Do I have to change an employee’s job duties because of a disability?

A. Possibly, yes.  Taking away essential job functions not a reasonable accommodation.  An employer may be required, however, to remove non-essential job functions or provide modifications to the work environment or the manner in which the work is performed that will allow the disabled employee to perform essential functions.
