A: To map a successful retirement there are key transition areas for retirement preparation. The key areas are financially, physically and emotionally. If your company provides a company retirement plan, a Summary Plan Description (SPD) should be given to eligible employees. The company’s retirement vendor may provide financial planning information. If your company offers an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) or Health Insurance, the benefit vendors may have information as well. Check with your broker or banking relationship for financial planner information. Employers Council offers career transition services for employees who are retiring.
