You Completed An Employee Opinion Survey, What’s Next?

For the entire process to be successful, it is important to note that conducting the survey itself was just the catalyst of the overall process not an isolated event. This “snapshot” of employee perceptions can be a powerful management tool.

Timely feedback of survey data is critical to the integrity of the overall process. Thank employees for their participation and inform them that management takes their feedback seriously. Be sure to communicate with employees what has changed as a result of the survey. Repeatedly communicate these linkages to reinforce management’s continuing commitment to use employee survey feedback. Managers who share results and do nothing else are seen as being just as ineffective as those who make no effort at all.

Re-survey anywhere from 12 months to 24 months apart. This will provide data for management to track the effectiveness of the intervention(s) chosen to address issues brought up in the survey.
