Colorado Minimum Wage to Increase to $8.31

The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) has announced the new proposed minimum wage for 2016. An amendment to Colorado’s constitution requires the CDLE to adjust the minimum wage rate each year based on inflation. The 2016 proposed minimum wage rate is $8.31 per hour and $5.29 per hour for employees who regularly receive tips. If approved, the new rate will take effect January 1, 2016.

CDLE will hold a rulemaking hearing on Monday, November 9, at 2 p.m., at 633 17th Street, Second Floor, Suite 200, Denver CO 80202. Interested members are encouraged to attend this hearing to provide feedback.
