Q & A – What if the complaining employee withdraws his or her complaint?

Q. What if the complaining employee withdraws his or her complaint?

A. The employer should still investigate the complaint to the best of its ability. Sometimes the employee withdraws the complaint out of fear of retaliation. The employer can try to combat this by explaining that the employee has not done anything wrong by coming forward and that he or she cannot be retaliated against for doing so.
