Arizona Minimum Wage to Remain Unchanged

At a public hearing, the Industrial Commission of Arizona stated that Arizona’s minimum wage of $8.05 per hour will remain the same for 2016. The Raise the Minimum Wage for Working Arizonans Act provides for an annual increase in the minimum wage based on the increase in the cost of living. As the Consumer Price Index that is used increased by only .2 percent between August 2014 and 2015, and the minimum wage is rounded to the nearest multiple of five cents, the minimum wage will stay at the 2015 rate.

Arizona’s minimum wage will continue to be higher than the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour.
