Q. How do I communicate a pay change?

A. If the pay change is company-wide, it might be wise to let employees know as a group that there will be pay changes made and why they will be made. An individual employee should receive notice of their pay changes in advance of the pay change being made. Some states require a particular time period, especially if pay is to be reduced. If the state does not have such a requirement, a pay period notice is recommended.
