A: Applicants should fill out an application that has a disclaimer stating that the information they are providing is correct, and that if it turns out to be incorrect, they may be discharged.  In addition, information requested on an application can help an employer understand what occurred between jobs an applicant held.  This is information is typically not available on a resume.
