U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) recently announced that starting August 1, 2016, E-Verify user IDs that have not been accessed for 270 days will be deactivated. To avoid deactivation, E-Verify users are encouraged to log in using the assigned IDs before August 1, 2016 and should remember to log in at least once every 270 days after that. Employers may also want to take this opportunity to review all the user IDs associated with the company’s E-Verify account to determine whether access is still required for any of the users and terminate any that are no longer in use.
