Department of Labor Announces Grants for Training People with Disabilities

Earlier this month, the U.S. Department of Labor announced grants of approximately $15 million to state workforce agencies for developing strategies to increase the participation of people with disabilities in federally funded employment and training programs.

The funds are intended to improve training and employment opportunities in employment and training services funded by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. These services are offered in partnership with vocational rehabilitation, community colleges, and other education entities and business partners. The projects will help businesses meet their workforce needs by recruiting, hiring, and training individuals with disabilities.
