Employers Council’s 2018 Benchmark Compensation Survey collected base wages for 416 positions across ten distinct job families. New for 2018! We have published a Benchmark Compensation Survey that includes data from employers in Arizona, Colorado, and Wyoming. Each job includes the individual state breakouts of the data and an overall Total Responses data line. We have also published a separate Utah Benchmark Compensation Survey that includes data exclusively from Utah employers.
In addition to the base salary, data for the 416 positions were also collected for:
- Annual Incentive – Participants were asked to provide annual incentives for the past fiscal/calendar year. Data reported are average incentives paid and number of employees receiving an incentive.
- Target % Incentive – Participants were asked to provide targeted percentage figures for additional compensation, not earned income for the current year.
- Exemption Status – Participants were asked to identify the FLSA classification of their matched position.
New to the survey this year is a Retail Store Assistant Manager.
The general information section reports data for 2017 pay increases, and 2018 and 2019 projected pay increases, historical tracking of projected increases versus actual increases, average hiring rates, ratio of human resource employees to total employees, and HR service model.

Are the organizations who reported data in the survey similar in geographic location, industry type, and employment size to your organization? Following are several charts showing the 2018 participant analysis by geographic location, industry type, and employment size for all four states: Arizona, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming.
