The Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA) advances Colorado’s creative vitality by connecting arts and business. Representing over 180 companies, CBCA promotes economic growth through the arts and forming business partnerships.
Inspired by David Rockefeller’s national Business Committee for the Arts, CBCA was created in 1985 to educate, motivate, and recognize business support for and participation in the arts in Colorado. Through advocacy, research, training, volunteerism, and arts engagement, CBCA demonstrates that art is smart for business, validates its economic impact, and strengthens the cultural vitality of Colorado communities.
CBCA offers numerous signature programs and events that foster arts and business partnerships. CBCA’s annual Business for the Arts Awards is an arts-infused event that recognizes exemplary support of arts and innovative partnerships. For over 20 years, Leadership Arts has prepared more than 800 individuals to serve on nonprofit Boards of Directors and increase their civic engagement in the arts. CBCA’s biennial Economic Activity Study of Metro Denver Culture is a critical way in which CBCA elevates the business community’s appreciation of the arts, and elevates understanding that the arts are essential to the region’s economic development and vitality. CBCA also hosts issue-based forums, offers cultural opportunities for employees of member companies, connects artists with pro bono legal services, and organizes other activities that advance and celebrate the power of arts and business connections.
CBCA remains a successful membership organization of leading Colorado companies and individuals that invest and engage in the arts. CBCA was awarded the 2010 Denver “Mayor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts” and was a finalist for the Denver Metro Chamber’s Small Nonprofit of the Year in 2018. CBCA is an affiliate of Americans for the Arts.
CBCA is member of Employers Council because they share a mission to support local businesses and advance quality of life for Colorado’s workforce.
