Staff Spotlight: John Kertesz

John has been practicing human resources for over 25 years, with 9 years at the executive level. His highly diverse experience includes corporate, regional, and site human resources, as well as domestic and international issues, corporate compensation and benefits, training and organizational development, cost reduction, mergers and acquisitions, labor and employee relations, employee engagement, talent management and acquisition, and many other areas of corporate human resources. His foreign consulting experience includes various human resources activities spread over eight different countries, including Canada and many European Union member nations.

John earned his undergraduate degree in Personnel and Industrial Relations from Utah State University and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Behavior from Brigham Young University. He began his human resources career with Shell Oil and has worked in the oil, chemical, and mining industries.

John lives in Star Valley, Wyoming, where he is excited and ready to hit the ground running in supporting and advising our Wyoming members. John thoroughly enjoys the mountains and outdoor activities. He and his wife, Susan, have been married for 34 years and have five children and four grandchildren.
