George Russo joined our Colorado Springs office as an employment law attorney in October 2017. He was promoted to supervising attorney of the Colorado Springs office in July of this year. Prior to joining Employers Council, he practiced law at MacCabe & McGuire and Anderson, Rasor and Partners in Chicago. While working as a litigator there, he realized that no one is happy before, during, or after litigation. “When I saw Employers Council’s model of a membership where companies get advice on how to avoid litigation, it was the perfect fit for me.”
Originally from Chicago, George made the move out West to get closer to the mountains. He fell in love with Colorado while visiting his sister at college in Denver.George has his undergrad degree from Catholic University in Washington D.C., and his law degree from John Marshall Law School in Chicago.
George has settled in nicely with Employers Council and helps members every day. When asked his favorite part of the job, he said, “I love getting to know the companies we work with, learning about what they do, and seeing where they work. Exploring Colorado and New Mexico is also a great perk. We get asked to do presentations and trainings in some of the most beautiful landscapes. For example, overlooking the Royal Gorge.”When not helping members avoid litigation,George loves to travel around Colorado(especially Salida), hike, swim, and travel to other countries (he highly recommends Croatia). He also likes to explore local coffee shops (Roscoe’s Café) and local breweries (his favorite is Goat Patch).
