The EEOC is under the gun. The agency was not thrilled about a court order requiring it to collect salary data–a rule set in motion by the previous administration. In an April 25, 2019, decision, the court explained, “EEO-1 Component 2 data collection(s) will not be deemed complete, for the purpose of this Order, until the percentage of … EEO-1 Component 2 reports equals or exceeds the mean percentage of EEO-1 reporters that actually submitted EEO-1 reports in each of the past four reporting years.”
So far, the number of reports turned in has not hit that number. Thus, the EEOC’s plea to employers to keep turning in those reports beyond the September 30 deadline.
