If so, the EAA’s National Sales Compensation Survey will provide you with current market data on hard-to-find sales positions.
The most recent survey contains data reported by 10 employer associations across the country, representing 2,073 companies. The survey includes 10,445 employees reported across six regions and 15 industries. The report includes 15 benchmark sales positions in the following job families:
- Sales Management
- Outside Sales
- Internal Sales
- Route Sales
Compensation data for each position is reported in three types of sales compensation plans and as a total survey average:
- Base Salary Only – Pay plans which do not contain an incentive pay component
- Base Salary Plus Variable – Pay plans which include incentive pay
- Variable Pay Only – Pay plans in which all compensation is variable or incentive-based; there is no base pay.
- Combined Compensation Type – All compensation paid for all incumbents reported
