The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), the agency responsible for overseeing federal contractors, announced Friday that they have streamlined and revised the Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form (CC-305). The OFCCP hopes this streamlined form will increase the response rate of applicants and employees who choose to voluntarily self-identify their disability status.
Federal Contractors with at least 50 employees and $50,000 or more in federal contracts are required by law to offer applicants, new hires, and existing employees the opportunity to self-identify as disabled. Self-identification is done using an official form that must be approved by the federal Office of Management and Budget (OMB). With the revised form having been approved, it is available for immediate use. Federal contractors and subcontractors will have until August 4, 2020, to implement the new form into their applicant and employee systems and processes.
The most substantial change to the form is a reduction in size from two pages to one page. Contractors cannot make substantive changes to the content of the form but may make non-substantive changes to accommodate accessibility of the form for all applicants and employees.
